Poem: Arousal
when attraction gets away from you
limerence was never sufficient enough language
to describe the libidinous nature of my heart
like stars spinning in my sight after your slap
the impact, like a comet hitting earth, smack!
your presence claims the reigns of my awareness
my queasy need becomes quotidian
the torture of your absence agonises me greatly
i bang my head against memories
mementos of you drag me through my day
decorating my sick mind with dedications
taxidermied moments, shared and stalked
voyeuristically slithering through your cavernous spirit
my soul becomes an altar of devotion
keeping witness of your every move
my desperation devours your desire
it was never cannibalism, more like
capturing
pin you down, tie you up,
hold you hostage to my craving
cut you open, a living carcass
mutilate you into my muse
a petrified statue of my obsession
who’s in control? I whisper in your ear,
disturbed air reverberating
i count the days of sobriety
like beads on a rosary
i run my fingers across your protruding bones
i want to steal your sanctity
there is no spirituality here
just raw, rapturous instinct
i’m compelled by compulsion
like a predator must prey;
when you soften, i salivate
sweat creeps down your neck
i taste salacious salt on my tongue
unhinge my jaw and sink into your flesh,
strings of chewy sinew stuck in my teeth,
it’s too late to run, you’re enraptured, my captive
ignorant to what you were signing up for
when you threw me that innocent smile
shibari, i bond us, together, forever,
limbs entangled, entwined we die
